The group who perform in this music, composed by Christian Sales come from Languedoc where the events in The Dove and the Devil took place.

It is modern music, performed on medieval instruments, which draws heavily on early medieval troubadour tradition. This selection is part of a longer piece which is based on the poetry of Aimeric de Peghuilhan (1175-1225) and it would have been current at the time of the setting of The Dove and the Devil.
